When "Dani" began playing the piano at 12 years old, it was love at once! She studied classical music for 4 years, the last of which being at college level. At the time she had aspirations of becoming a concert pianist, but decided that playing vintage gospel music with her family was more to her liking. Though she still plays classical music on her very own Mason & Hamlin grand piano, hymns and gospel songs are mostly what you'll hear, with a little ragtime thrown in.
Born on the 13th of January, 1994, Maria Danielle Kempter is not only a pianist, but quite the artist. She's tried her hand at many, many things but says that,"Drawing is my real talent." As there are a lot of artist's on her Dad's side of the family, it's no surprise that she has inherited the gift as well.
"To draw is to be in another world where time doesn't exist" Dani says, " it's like going into a vortex and I'm no longer aware of anything around me." She's been doodling since she was very young but it wasn't until 2010 that she got serious about it. She has done portraits for people and many pictures for fun. "I'm not an accomplished artist yet, but as each picture I do is leaps and bounds better then the last one, I feel I'm well on my way."
Besides music and art, Dani also loves to cook! "If I were to go to a college or something it would be culinary school" She says, "cooking is a blast! It's an adventure to get in the kitchen and try new things. Since most of it turns out really good, it's very satisfying." Dani is the head cook for the family and has recently started taking Jo and Charli on the cooking adventure too. "It makes me happy when everyone else is happy and since cooking good food does just that, I am all over it!"
Dani can be a whirlwind at times, actually most of the time... "I can't sit still, I have to be doing something or I'll go crazy!" she laughs. "It doesn't matter what I'm doing, just so long as I am busy."
So most times you'll find her busy with music, work, play and everything in between. Of course we refer to Dani as our "go to girl" as you can consider it done if she's on the job! She's solid as a rock (aka...dependable)!
"My favorite picture of me and Momma. We look so much alike, as people always said. I am honored to be considered similar to my hero. I love you Mom. I strive everyday to be like you."
